MXDWN: Review of The Sounds @ The Wiltern (Los...
Swedish pop rock outfit The Sounds brought their infectious fusion of indie rock and electronica to a packed house at The Wiltern last Wednesday. Ever-energetic frontwoman Maja Ivarsson literally strutted her stuff in a short black dress and high heels, much to the delight of the males at the front of the house; her perfect-front woman repertoire included drinking beer between songs, smoking...

Hear Nebraska: Interview with Chuck Ragan
Currently on tour supporting punk legends Social Distortion, Ragan’s also busy booking and scheduling the 2012 Revival Tour. In its third year in 2011, the punks-gone-folk tour featured Ragan, Fallon, Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) and Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio). Huffington Post: Review of The Sounds @ Music Hall...
While the Sounds are on the road promoting their new album, the biggest smiles and sing-a-longs would come during the songs of their 2006 release, Dying to Say This to You and the band does not seem to mind, they just want to please the fans. “We want to make you happy, you give us a reason, I live for you!” Maja declared to the audience at one point, the Sounds are a total fan...

Time flies and it’s hard to believe that the band’s lead singer, Maja Ivarsson, was only 19 years-old when it all began. Now a grown woman at the age of 32, she’s spent the last decade touring the globe and hasn’t aged a day but has grown immensely as an artist and proven to...

Songwriters on Process: Interview with Chuck Ragan
Ragan is always writing down ideas and thoughts everywhere he goes, usually on a notepad he stuffs in his back pocket. Then when he gets home, he opens up the bench and adds those scraps of paper to the growing pile already there. Some of those scraps have been there for over five years. And that’s where a lot of his song ideas originate.
