The rumors are NOT TRUE. We did not sign Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl just really likes our ultra-soft fabric t-shirts.
Just a few of the 7” Records that we’re going to be putting up in our store tomorrow by Noon PST. We’ve had these in stock for a while but I’m not sure why they weren’t available in our store. All that changes tomorrow.
We see you eyeing those Gaslight Anthem “The ‘59 Sound” 7”s. Not to mention our restock of Red and White Fake Problems “The Dream Team” 7”s.
For their third album, Broadway Calls are ready to go back to sonic basics and harness the energy of their earlier work into something new and exciting. It’s a hint they more or less took on their new EP Toxic Kids, and it would seem that the band plan on continuing in that direction when they head to the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado this April to record the follow-up to 2009’s Good Views, Bad News with producer Bill Stevenson (Rise Against, The Swellers, NOFX). “We have a lot of songs to choose from this time, and we’ll have even more by the time we get to the studio,” says frontman Ty Vaughn. I think this next record will be more like our first one [2007’s Broadway Calls]. A little more diverse than just mid tempo pop punk the whole way through.”
Ok, this is seriously and awesomely important.
Last week we did a little Autumn cleaning and went through a few boxes of test pressings. We decided that it’d be way better that fans have them than them sitting in boxes in our office. With that being said, the test pressings for the albums listed below are up for auction on our eBay.
There’s more though. ALL of the proceeds from the Big D and the Kids Table Fluent In Stroll auction are going to Dave McWane to help cover the cost of his medical bills associated with his fight against throat cancer. Also, a portion of the proceeds from all the other auctions will be going to Dave as well.

After close to a year off of touring, Broadway Calls hit the road with Living With Lions in support of their new EP Toxic Kids. With a six new songs under their belts, a new bass player on their side and a renewed energy, Broadway Calls are set to bring their pop-punk madness to North America.
We caught up with the band on the first day of the tour, at Vancouver’s Media Club, to talk about the upcoming shows, their new EP and what it feels like teaming up with their old friend Adam Willis.
Broadway Calls recently did an interview with Ctrl Alt Rock. Head HERE to read the interview or click “Read More”!
One of the hardest working bands out there, and certainly close to being our favourite bunch of dudes behind some instruments, Broadway Calls are popping up all over America right now to promote the release of their latest EP ‘Toxic Kids‘. The lovely Ty Vaughan gave us a few minutes of his time and answered a couple of questions about the new music and getting back to the UK..
Bella: It’s been a very long while since we caught up with you all in camp Broadway Calls, how is everyone doing?
Ty: We’re great! Finally on the road again. Currently writing you from a basement in Hamilton, Ontario.
You guys are on the road right now, touring the new EP yeah? What’s the reception at the shows been like to the newer songs?
Yeah we put out Toxic Kids pretty recently, and that’s the main reason for this tour. That and Fest. So far, everyone seems really happy with the songs we put out. Kids singing along and all that. We usually play one or two new songs every night.
The art work for Toxic Kids is gorgeous. Who did it and how did that come to be?
I totally agree. Craig Horky is the artist. Josh (drummer) has a screen printing shop and he and Craig work pretty closely with design stuff for shirts and posters. Craig is amazing, and we’re all really happy with the art. Josh sent him my lyrics to Toxic Kids and the idea behind the song and that’s what he came up with. He came to our show in Michigan the other night, and gave us the original giant sketch for the cover art! It’s so sweet. Going to be framed as soon as we get home.
Who exactly are ‘Toxic Kids’?
Toxic Kids are a fictional group of oppressed people in a bleak future I imagined one night while watching the news. It’s really scary how backwards some people in power think, and how against progress a lot of people are. It’s terrifying to think that maybe we could actually move backwards in civil rights and freedom if certain people get just a little more power.
You guys have jumped on tumblr now as well as twitter. Who keeps those updated?
I do. Well, I try to. Twitter is easy with my phone. Tumblr I forget we have most of the time.
Do you guys prefer them or facebook for fan interaction / getting news out?
Twitter is just so casual. I just talk shit on there that sometimes has nothing to do with the band. I try to save the other social sites for things that are strictly band related. But, yes they are very nice tools to have at my disposal while trying to let people know about something that matters in our little world. Much better than depending on a news site or something.
Before the year is through, you’re going to be back in europe and the UK. Have you got a lot of support out there? What are the bands like that you’ll be out there with?
Yes! Finally getting back! We’re going back over with our old friends The Swellers. It should be a blast. Usually it’s best to tour with old friends, and new friends, and that’s what we’re doing this time. Into It. Over It. is coming along as well, and although we’ve never met, we have a lot of mutual friends, and I can tell by his twitter that he loves to eat as much as I do.
Is there anywhere you haven’t been yet that you’re busting to play?
All the Scandinavian countries. Anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere as well. Australia and New Zealand of course. Anywhere we can hang at a beach on our day off.
What’s in store for broadway calls in 2012? Will we finally hear the new full length?
Yes. We went to see The Descendents in Chicago a few nights ago and talked to Bill Stevenson about recording the next album. We’re all really excited. Sometimes I think Bill is even more excited than we are, but that’s just because he is….. less reserved. We can’t wait to make the next record, we just need to tour on this EP right now.
Finally, if broadway DID actually call, what would be the first musical you’d audition for?
Hedwig And The Angry Inch. We all know the lyrics already, and the songs are classics!!!
